The men of the USS Kearsarge are still providing relief to Haiti, not just in Gonaive but now also in about 5 other Port Cities all across the country (north to south). In addition to food and water, they are getting ready to shift to phase two of their mission which is to provide Engineering and Medical relief as well...

Kathy, Minxie - any news from your loved ones in Houston?
I still have not been able to get through to my brothers, but I know they are ok. I did get through enough to get to voice mail once but so far, that's it...
That is so hard for me to wrap my head around. I just got word NOW that my aunt and granny were without power from Gustav in Lousianna for over a week. My family is so talkative, I can't imagine the not knowing you must be going through.

Oshy, I know, it's nuts! Your relatives probably couldn't regularly make phone calls to let you know about all that either.
Though my brothers are safe (heard it through the grapevine) I've never actually been able to speak to them. Too many people trying to use the overtaxed services I guess...
Nothing yet from Brenda, although she was able to reach Mom to let her know she is safe. Other than that, we can't get through! Out to check out the confidential blog...
