Oh Shakes! You're just beautiful! I absoluetley ADORE that hair cut! You did such a wonderful thing today, and I am very proud of you! I have not had hair long enought o donate since I was 11 years old. I am working on it now. Your hair was always gorgeous, and now it's even better! I think you look awesome! I hope that you like it as well!
That girl on the video is a very brave sould as well. I cannot believe how long her hair was!
Betty, I love the new haircut! It is sooooo cute. It's awesome that you gave to locks of love. Were you planning to do that for awhile? I have tried to grow my hair out long enough to do it, but my hair just won't grow. It tends to break off. I have a niece that was fortuanate enough to be given a wig after her chemo. It was great for her self-image. You rock!
Thansk for all your sweet comments! I really love my new cut, not quite sure if I'm excited about having a cut i have to do something with, but it's fun for a bit and when I get tired of it I can still throw it in a pony tail!
That's awesome Robbi! I did this once beore (about 10 years ago now) right before I started going to haiti. I cut if off then to about an inch long all over!!! Not quite so drastic this time! LOL
I'm really not that good or kind, (makes me blush a little to read all these compliments) BUT i can grow hair!! LOL
I can't give blood these days on account of being in Haiti but my hair grows pretty quick and it's good for a laugh to see the shocked faces when I whack it off!! If it wasn't so much FUN I probably wouldn't bother! LOL
Mary, the Garzas aren't Momma's family, but they do live down the street from where I found her and her kitties. (They fell in love with her and her brood too.) Just really good friends I am lucky to have... ;)
Love the cut! I know I saw it in person, but I haven't been to your blog in a while. I suck. LOL.
I always wanted to do this, but my hair just doesn't grow that long. I don't know if it is genetics or what, but it gets to a certain point and just doesn't grow anymore. Weird, right?
My husband Dane and I inherited a portion of his family farm and purchased the rest of it from his brothers and sisters a few years ago. Recently a FB friend of mine mentioned how he was encouraged by my posting about our life on the farm. He mentioned the term "Americana" in his encouragement to me to keep it up. That really resonated with a deeper part of my soul; hit me where I live so to speak. Having traveled the world extensively and lived in several other countries my love for my America has increased over the years. There's no place like home they say, and there's nothing like the peace I've found since moving out here to our little piece of it.
