'Terminally Faithful' or boundaries, boundaries, boundaries...

Anybody else out there got boundary issues?? = )

I found this great graphic illustration in Al Turtle's delightful essay on boundaries. Click on it to see the article for yourself. If you're like me and have 'boundary issues' it will be well worth the trip. He not only uses castles, moats, drawbridges, soldiers and alligators to teach on the subjects but cats too!

I'm gonna let this gell for a bit and come back later... (gotta go be in the real world for a while!)

Well, it's later... But I just can't seem to get in the frame of mind to finish this morning's post. Maybe it's the horrible tragedy that just hit Myanmar, or the terrible hunger riots in Haiti... Whatever the cause, my little woes just don't seem that big a deal right now.

It's an awesome essay though so I'm reserving the right to return to it, this IS my place after all!! = )

The cartoon is a hoot!

As for the boundary issues, it has taken some work, but now (insert devilish grin here) I enjoy setting them!

I was in the real world yesterday, too! It's tiring and there is no conflict here on your blog! Love it.

I do struggle with this, although becoming a mom has made it easier for me to say "no" to things for her benefit. Not my own behalf, though, hmm. Ah well, I'll get there.

thanks gals = )

I know this is a loaded topic! I loved what the guy said especially about anger. WOW! Plus the fact that he uses cats as an example to us of how to express just the right amount... It was sooo spot on!

I'm really finding a warm special place in my heart for you ladies = )

I didn't read the whole article, but I get the gist of it. It's like Dr. Phil says, "You teach people how to treat you," right? And, we are in control of how we feel... I get it.

I've bookmarked the article and will read more. This is something I HAVE to put my foot down on to find some peace for me.

YEAH! :)

Hey, I think we are leading identical lives! I sat down last night at the same time, and promptly fell asleep! Today I'm still so groggy I had to nap!

Suz, I have just finally learned to teach my boss how to treat me. It's so funny how it is working! Before it was always "whatever the boss wants..."

Yup, bookmarking that one, too. And ditto on the special place for you! I am so glad for Rod's blog and meeting all ya'all! Now I'm off to comment on Rod on a Stick. That is a double-something, grammatically speaking, isn't it?

OMG Kathy, I jsut came in the door half and hour ago for lunch and I'm still so tired...

I guess I'm learnign to teach people how to treat me too, but I think I've gone aobut it in some pretty clumsy ways, still learning... slowly.....
